I measured them, the speakers themselves are indeed 8 inches across.

I stand corrected then. =D

With or without treatment, should be pretty nice thumps. Sometimes I like just jamming music on mine but my monitors are only 4" lol.

Yeah when you turn them up to around 85-88dBs they're actually not too terrible since that's where the response (of most listening rooms) shines though best.

I hear this type of stuff sometimes but still don't know how you'd measure it compared to your specific units. Is that by simply looking at a spectrum analyzer or something? Or is it some manufacturer info that comes with your kit?

I haven't honestly looked, just try to judge multiple audio system to feel my stuff out. Like the project I'm working on now, I converted to mp3 for my phone. An effect in the DAW, or the conversion added some distortion to the kick/sub/bass relation. Like a delay. Which I did add something like that to a background drum sound but I don't hear it anywhere but in my truck.

There though I've killed a few speakers, but I don't hear it all the time. So really I should stop using it I guess but it's where I used to spend a lot of time judging the errors of my ways. So maybe I just need to fork out some dough and replace everything. The truck is over 13 years old now I guess anyway.

You'd have to buy an spl mic and measure the room for the specific dB level, I just go pretty loud. I just know that things like diesel trucks and big vehicles usually get around 85dB and go from there. Kinda eyeballing it, or "earballing" it so to speak

Re: Picture of your studio (pt.2).... [800x800 max limit on pics]

@scyn it's apps that comes with the RME audio interfaces, spectrum analyzer, vectorscope, correlation meter, rms/peak meters .. I found it reaallly pratical to have them all the time on a seperate small usb monitor

@RFJ well just got it yesterday, so far I can say it's well built, super customizable, fiddling with the editor right now, I know it's all scriptable I'll have to figure that out.. You can put custom led color when you press on something, etc. The buttons feel ok, but nothing special, I'm used to the really smooth and comfy touch of the Axis I guess, but no biggy for me, since it's probably going to be activating loops, samples, etc.

Re: Picture of your studio (pt.2).... [800x800 max limit on pics]

Thanks.

Do you have to, what's it called, bridge it or something or is it recognized straight away once plugged in.

You have to run several processes in the background in order to run a monome. But I've heard stuff from livid is more plug / play in nature.

Re: Picture of your studio (pt.2).... [800x800 max limit on pics]

well AFAIK, it is plug and play, as for the midi controller itself, it has a memory so with the editor software I picked all the midi notes and midi CC and sent my settings to the hardware and they're stored until I change them.. but maybe when it comes to python scripting or midi script you'd have to run something in the background, but yeah as a midi controller its just plug and press buttons
