Re: share your field recordings

I think this is right place to put this... I've recently been tampering with granular synthesis in Audition and some MaxMSP based software and am doing so using field recordings. I've made a soundcloud just for this as it's completely abstract from what I normally do.

All sounds are recorded with either a Rode NT1000 studio condenser or a Tascam HD-P2, and sounds are taken from anything from my african grey parrot to glass smashing or running water etc. Take a look if interested anyway.

I've just got a new Zoom H6 and I've been testing out the mid side microphone. Here's some of my test recordings:

They're recorded around Melbourne. Some city drone ambience, and some train announcements... That kind of thing.

Re: share your field recordings

Hello,

excuse me if I've overseen a thread concerning this. I am looking for a well recorded sample of an electric arc (high voltage). I've clicked through dozens of youtube-videos and some free sample librarys, without pleasant results. Does someone have such a sample or can tell me where to find it? Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately I haven't enough posts to share links... ough. Please search for "354kV disconnect opening" in youtube for an example.

I found some on Spotify, which leads me to believe there are probably many more than can be found on iTunes and the like. One of them was pretty crisp.

Re: share your field recordings

Here's a selection of field recordings I made while traveling throughout India.

I know it's shitty, but I used a RODE i-XY mic, the one that attaches to iPhones. It was a really interesting experience, as I found strangers were far more open to being recorded than having their pictures taken. The microphone became a kind of dowsing rod I would use to guide me. India is such a sonically rich country. I found the temples to be the most interesting. This selection focuses on the religious.

You can check out my soundcloud page under CORWIN TRAILS. Album name is SELECTED FIELD RECORDINGS FROM INDIA AND NEPAL (RELIGIOUS MUSIC).

Thanks, i really enjoy field recording and appreciate this thread.
