So, I've been messing around with the transient shaper in the enveloper native plugin in logic. Was just wandering what other transient tools are out there and if I should maybe experiment with some of those AUs? What transient tools do you guys like to use?
Out of these:
Schaak Audio's Transient Shaper
SPL Transient Designer
Sonnox Transient Modulator
Schaak's TS is my favorite. For me, it sounds more natural when pushed all the way (meaning it sounds less clicky). Idk for some reason, all of those other ones accentuate the highest frequencies (and give it an annoying click) rather then just increasing the attack of the transient (kind of like a compressor). Does anybody else feel this way?
I really like the SPL transient designer. It works well and is so easy to use. With just two knobs you can make transients either smoothe out, or jump more "in-your-face". Easy to hear the difference without needing to go through complicated attack and release settings, ratio's etc. Really good on kick's or basses especially I find.
