Re: Noisia Future Music's issue

well, for me personally it was more about processing and mixing insight rather than what daw or computer someone uses,

some gem hints as matching the bass transient' fundamental pitch with the kick's one and stuff like that
stuff that i 'know' but rarely implement into my work - generally because of bad workflow habits as mixing while composing or vice versa

cool video, i want to get hands on the tipper issue though

Re: Noisia Future Music's issue

Im a little underwhelmed. Macros in massive, seriously? The snare synthesis sounded cool but im not that interested in that since ive got a field recorder
Was expecting something rather more revolutionary

Re: Noisia Future Music's issue

I cracked up laughing when he suddenly chips in with a few words such as "The oscillator in FM 8 is really awsome" then goes back to reading.

Re: Noisia Future Music's issue

I liked the separate processing on transient and the body thing. Just something that I haven't thought about (well, I've used gates to capture the transient, process and blend it back in, but that's it).

Another way to do that without audio editing would be to load the same sample twice in your sampler (or two samplers, if yours doesn't have separate outputs), link them and adjust one's attack and another's decay to the same value, eg one decays in 30ms and the other takes 30ms to come in.

Tried it in Reason, very simple and useful.

Some friends of mine have met him, apparently hes been like that for years. The other two always do the talking

Anyway i guess they are pretty good vids but i was hoping for one or two bass secrets, something beyond 'its massive or fm8, its a reece, the filter is automated'. Ohwell

Re: Noisia Future Music's issue

Hahaha nice one
That post is about 1 month before i registered to 'the' dutch DnB forum back then. Its probably a bit of a joke though because i could hear some basic reeces when they were still posting in the production section there. I sortof watched them grow until they more or less vanished from the forum in early 2004 after their first couple of serious releases.
This was one of the first:

Re: Noisia Future Music's issue

And on a bit of a sidenote, im almost 100% sure they abused the hell out of the classic Antares filterbank, which seems to have vanished from VSTland completely. That thing was a beast of a filter that could give the most recent ones a good run for their money.

Re: Noisia Future Music's issue

There has been so much hype about this. It was interesting enough...but it's hilarious how much people (on dubstep forum) were creaming themselves as if Noisia were going to hand them a magic wand.

Thanks for the post though, didn't want to buy the mag just for this...

Re: Noisia Future Music's issue

Much preferred this Mason video - they're just much more relaxed and open and it's cool seeing the two of them participating and getting involved. Edit: Actually - I think it's one of the better interviews in this series.

Re: Noisia Future Music's issue

The idea of bouncing everything down seems cool, but I guess you really need to be sure in what you're doing in order for that method to work (and sadly I'm never sure about anything). And using multiple Ozones on several tracks at the same time - my computer would just say no. Thanks for the upload, was worth the watch!
