"Metalstep" :)

Who else thinks dubstep and heavly distorted guitars are awesome together?
I.e the songs korn and skrillex made!

Also, is there anyone or any band who make only "metalstep" (if that even exists)?

step is actually in the making, pretty much distorted guitars runned through a LFO, with studio quialty beats, it's not real yet, but it's coming!

Drumcorps aka Aaron Spectre does some stuff like this. I know there is more just can't think of any right now.

In fact I think he was doing it long before korn joined in or Skillrex realised he could use his strong right wrist to do more than touch himself.

Re: "Metalstep" :)

Korn? it wouldn't be metal-step then, it'd be wanky-over-emo-pussy-nu-metal-step.

The first time I ever heard of Skrillex was because he remixed Shapeshift by HORSE the Band. I thought it was okay, but after I heard what Skrillex normally does on his own I concluded it only sounded okay because it was a HORSE remix. :V

Re: "Metalstep" :)

I'm all about my metal , but metal-step just doesn't top the gut growling guitars and a dirty breakdowns for me. Even with that, there's still some tracks I love.

Cameron Argon (Producer: Big Chocolate) & Mitch Lucker (Suicide Silence: Vocalist)

it just sounds so pissed.

see the real golden thing is mixing metal and really intense breakcore.

See: Whourkr, Ghengis Tron, Drumcorps, Eustachian...

That track is awesome, except i think the vocals are abit too brutalish, but that might just be me

Metal + Dubstep is great I reckon. I get the feeling SKisM and Mantis are both metalheads, the sound comes through in their stuff even when there is no guitars or whatever, the ending of Mantis' 'Boss Fight' is nuts!

This.

I have yet to hear any metal infused dubstep that I thought was really amazing. Most of it sounds a bit uncreative to me. Most of it's just the normal dubstep syncopation and wobble, but with a more screechy tone and occasionally some screamy vocals spliced in. The combination just sounds too obvious for me to shit my pants over.

Re: "Metalstep" :)

Hi guys.

I'm originally a D&B / Metal / Rock / Industrial producer type person. I've recently been messing with Dubstep and Drumstep just because I find some of the sounds exciting but given my background I couldn't really help but to include guitars, real bass guitar, real (but edited) drums combined with electronic etc. It just came more natural to me. Anyway, I'd love to see what you think!

Thanks.
