Hey guys, I'm having trouble understanding all these notations, and words that he is talking about. I can't get past The introduction without being totally confused, and I keep reading it over, but I just don't understand. All the knowledge I have is that a piano consists of CDEFGBAC and also that black keys are named after the note coming before them, I also know the basics of what a chord is, and Major/minor keys are. Can someone point me in the direction of somthing that will help me understand what he is talking about. -THANK YOU.

He likes to throw in some complicated confusing stuff for fun - you can ignore most of what isn't relevant to you and save it for later

It's such an excellent little document it should be spread around the EDM scene as much as possible.

Honestly, five bucks for the annual membership is worth it. I've read a couple theory books, got the most out of an older version of this guide. Does everything have to be free?

I take the challenge to read the guide as soon as I finish my copy of the Hobbit! Seems like there is much to learn in this forum from the IDM crew. At some time, I suppose that I will be of help too, since I am a music enthusiast and love to feel the vibes when something comes from the speakers.

I know I love it.

Its a good point though I think, putting words on how something sounds by your own terms so that when you want "that chocolate fudge sound" you know its this or that scale.
