Icon5 Good Techno Albums

I realize that this is my first post, hopefully I'm not a noob

Anyways, I'm looking for some great techno albums, great beats, great transitions, and not the same 5 seconds looped for 5 hours.

So, thanks...just name off a few. Appreciate it

Re: Good Techno Albums

There are loads I could suggest but definately this one -

Planetary Assault Systems - Temporary Suspension

And pretty much everything on Signularity Records and Ganesa Records.

Ah, conchur mentioned Audion, I'd suggest his Suckfish album, awesome but quite hard to find these days I think?

Ginger by Speedy J on Warp is a classic. Anything by Speedy J is pretty cool.

I just got Shh by Phil Kieran, it is truly an awsome record. Also Id reecomend most of dave clarkes output, If you like classic stuff try "Archive One"

Check out this excellent Phil Kieran mix its got a few tracks off the Shh album on it.

I agree its an absolute classic record, but not really for the dancefloor. More of an ambient trip

Re: Good Techno Albums

I like very much zombie disco squad - the dance, but also nice is
Chris Leibing vs Green Velvet - auf und ab und kinda high (dustin zahn mix)
Ben KLock - red alert
Spektre - Kraken (Original Mix).mp3
aka aka woodpecker (maybe its a bit electro but still very like it)

Re: Good Techno Albums

Hey hey!

Awesome thread. Listening to some Planetary Assault System now, and they're pretty cool. I think Imma listen to every band named here.

For my part, I'm a big fan of Plastikman. Check out his album Musik. I really love Konception and Outbak off this album. There's Krakpot, and Minus Orange/Yellow, from Plastikman too...

If you like minimal, I'd recommend you some Gaiser, Umek and Popof.

Gaiser: Ground, Trunkated, Withdrawal. I find that all of Gaisers's bass are orgasmic.
Umek: Responding to Dynamik, Slap, and Uncounth Manners, all frickin' awesome. Umek has done some old-skool techno in the 90's, too. Slap's bass is incredible.
Popof: Brain on the Side, Toxic Love.

Re: Good Techno Albums

A few of my favourite techno mixes - all top shelf music that I replay over and over and have done for years.

Scion - Arrange And Process Basic Channel Tracks (dub techno)
Richie Hawtin - Decks, EFX & 909 (broad selection of quite a few techno sub-genres, very cohesive set)
Stewart Walker - Live Extracts (crunchy deep techno)
Sven Vath - Sound of the Second Season (again, mix of different techno as Sven tends to do, much fun)

A new album discovery for me that I'm head over heals in love with is:

Cio D'Or - Die Faser

It's an amazing collection of deep, hypnotic techno. I've been listening to her mixes non-stop for a few weeks now and I can't get enough! There's a good review here and you can visit website with a nice collection of mixes for download including recent RA podcast (and extended version).
