At the end of the day if you have a track they want then they will probably go for it no matter how many posts youve got . Vice versa if you give someone exposure they will post more to become part of the community. Mutual benefit.

^Yeah, the 3:30 limit is to give a bit of a taster. There will be a setlist which will contain links to the soundcloud pages of the selected artists, where people will be able to hear the full version.

naw. the rules are the rules. Allowing someone with less than 50 posts over someone with the required number will result in a frantic forum shitstorm the likes of which I do not wish to deal with.

I'm guessing 'yes', but I want to make sure:

Can we submit part of a track that has been signed and is being released at a label already, provided we have the right to do so? And can the blurbs contain promotional info like label name or any websites?

Wound of been a nice to of participated in this, only I don't think any of my Progressive tracks could be limited to 3 minutes. Shame.

^^ sure they can, cut the intro out. or start at the beginning of a build up or a break....once again, there will be a link given to your soundcloud page in the setlist, where users can hear the full thing (if you have uploaded it). Think of it as a radio edit.

It would give far better results, if the selector chooses where to fade in and out.
The whole thing is to whet one's appetite for a track, so even 2:00 or less could be enough.. But again, it's up to the intuition of the DJ to find the right balance and not blindly string 3:30 tunes together.

I only wanted to defend the position to leave the decision for the track extracts to you - for more flexibility.

it'll be fine man. otherwise people will be pissed off that i didn't play the part they wanted. There will be a spoken blurb in between tracks, anyway.. its not a mix set, its more like a radio-show. I do plan on having IDMF Label artists put in guest mixes in later editions and such...

anyways... lets test it out first and see.
