I stumbled onto mr Oizos webcite :
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click here to register] and checked out these things called mpc shit where you basically play different keys on your keyboard and it plays slices from his songs. However I am wondering if this is actually how he is going about writing....
As you can see the slices often consist of : a kick, a snare, a bass line and then various melodic elements (chords and stabs) layered with either a kick, snare or bass part. Do you perhaps think that in writing their songs, this is how the french house guys are pretty much getting their song going, by throwing a couple basic drums into a sampler then choosing some melodic bits that complement eachother (perhaps from a variety of different songs) and then linking the drums to some of them so that a beat can be made by pretty much hammering out one pad at a time...?
