Mixers - again. New Midas line

I've been somewhat frustrated with latency woes now that I've added more HW rack fx to my setup. As is, everything is patched to my interface and I compensate for latency on the channels, which isn't ideal but for awhile was work able. The problem w this is now that I have all of these channels latency compensated my overall latency for say, playing a SW synth live or tracking voice is all fucking wacked.

Does anyone have any experience with the new line of Midas small format consoles? I can deal with the 2 aux sends just fine, and having my synths and fx routed to a physical device would solve some problems (will also be good for live performance, which i am thinking of getting back to)

I guess my concern is with the Behringer Midas merge... is this a Eurorack mixer painted up all Midas-y????

It seems awful cheap.

Re: Mixers - again. New Midas line

Disregard, found a 16:2 Allen and Heath Mixwizard on Craigslist for a steal.

Hopefully grabbing that on Monday night.

Re: Mixers - again. New Midas line

Planning to add a 16:2 as an outboard FX router? In addition to another console?

Techno starts with a capital 'T', as in TB-303 and TR-808.

So much so that it's dodgy.

It can't be all that good.

That is sooo weird.

Re: Mixers - again. New Midas line

Ugh....I did something naughty that makes me want a mixer with some character now...probably looking at like...old Mackie's right ? VLZ? 12 channels and some sends. Individual outs would be a nice touch, but could live w/o...

edit: also fuck off stereo inputs...don't need em

Could be that they're leveraging economies of scale like with the deepmind 12, but yeah, I'd go for an allen&heath any day.

concur. i'm going to keep spying craigslist for and A&H. I'd like to pull the trigger sooner rather than later, but getting the right thing makes way more sense than getting a band aid that I'd need to replace anyways...
