Spectrasonics Keyscape

Shit..yet another one I think I'm going to "NEED"..but it's early days yet..and I think I'm going to hang on and see what the honest reviews are about this one.

Re: Spectrasonics Keyscape

Seriously, I'm thinking if you splashed out for all of the Spectrasonics' stuff and all the Native Instruments stuff, then you would realistically never have or need to buy another thing again to make music..between them, they have EVERY genre covered..and then some.

I know some will say getting everything from both is over-kill, but..seriously..if you consider the cost of a buying real "hand-held" instruments, then the cost soon mounts up to way more if you were to try and collect everything you get from these two companies.

Anyway, I think this is the road I'm heading down..it really is a matter of getting the funds together to do just that..all in good time I guess.

Even Komplete is pretty much all you need. Unless you need really articluate vocal or orchestral instruments

It always fills my heart with joy to see Herbie playing something just as amazing, as genuine and mind blowing as ever.

He looks like he's in good shape too. Long live Herbie Hancock.

Yeah but they still can't get pianos to sound like pianos... They need to work another ten years... Maybe we'll have the processing power by then

The software sounds pretty good!

I want to learn piano every time I see/hear Herbie play.

Re: Spectrasonics Keyscape

Does anyone know if it's going to possible to control Keyscape remotely via an IOS app of some kind? I'm sure I'm not the only live player without the time to buggerise around changing patches & sounds on the fly during and between songs using a mouse or a trackpad.

Omnisphere has this capability (Omni TR) , but I don't own/need Omnisphere and can't see anything anywhere about something similar for people who only want to use Keyscape...

I think this looks fantastic, but I also think that I don't have enough skill with keys to really do this thing justice.

I don't see anything mention of a feature like that, but I'm betting they're keeping it for the v.2 update or something like that. I could be wrong though..

I suppose so.... but you'd think that sort of accessibility would be a no-brainer if they're trying to market it it to live players as well...

Yeah, but they know folks are going to go with the quality of the brand..basically, when you buy Spectrasonics stuff, you know it's going to be some of the best..if not the best out there. The sound quality is, for many, enough to push them to make a purchase..

That said, I hoesntly don't know the full feature-set that's coming with this..the vids so far just seem to be highlighting the sounds and keyboards included, so what you're looking for may well already be in there somewhere.

I'm surprised A.M. that you don't have Omnisphere. It's an ambient composers wet dream, or so I thought. With the layering of all sorts of meticulously recorded choir and soundscapes and the granulizer you're in quick pad bliss. You can also sequence the layers. I'm so underutilizing this synth, it's not even funny, but I crack it open regularly. Mostly for said layered pads. For what you get (55 GB of all sorts of wonderful sounds) it's actually well priced. SoundMatch is nice, as is SoundLock. The sound browser makes it so easy to find what you are looking for. As an NI user you know how much this sort of categorization is worth.

I DO have it..don't know what gave you the impression I didn't..I was talking here about the features of their new Keyscape software, which is due to hit the stores soon..hence this thread.

But, yeah, Omni is certainly one-of-a-kind..and as much as I'm an NI fanboy, I still use Spectrasonics equally as much.

one thing, though, I've not warmed up to the FX Omnisphere has built in. Maybe it's the interfaces, but if there was one item on my wish list, it would be a customizable send FX to an AU of my choosing.
