[Darkwave Post-Punk]The Flammable Men - Lunar

Lately I've put my IDM music noodling on the back shelf and picked up the bass and joined a "we only wear black" band playing gloomy music to gloomy people. I'm loving it! There is a lot of energy and enjoyment making music this way I've found. What do you peeps think?

Re: [Darkwave Post-Punk]The Flammable Men - Lunar

I think I like it. It's possible that I love it, but I'm not ready to commit. I'm also a bit confused by it and would like to hear more tracks to put it in context.

What's the setup of the band? You're on bass, and I'm assuming there's at least one set of keys/samplers? Drums? I wasn't getting a guitar vibe. I somehow imagined Smiths covers, but it's more early Skinny Puppy meets Bauhaus. I heard some beats in there but is there a guy actually sitting down all Animal-like or is it all programmed and you stand in a line like Kraftwork? Inquiring minds want to know. Can we get a press pack or something?

I'm also confused about loving playing gloomy music. Isn't that oxymoronic? I'm imagining the The Monkees playing on stage but Godflesh coming out of the speakers. I kind of want to see that happen.

This is great. Its like Pete Murphy and David Bowie had a bastard child and put acid in its milk.

Thanks guys. It's a 2 piece at the moment with me adding bass and vox, we both play synth, Rob the other guy has some drum machines and a laptop. We have 1 other song, a synth heavy danzig cover, it's super early days as a band, we need to write some more stuff to fill a set still
