Icon4 Rules for Posting Events (Read Carefully)

When posting events please make sure that you follow this post:

1. When posting the event name it must be formatted correctly as follows:

[Town, Country] Event Name (Date)

So an event would look like this:

[Melb, AU] IDM Forums Presents Mad Cunts (15.10.07)

Please avoid keyword stuffing in the event title like Awesome Breaks/IDM/Electronica/Minimal party!!!! & also avoid overusing CAPS.2. Please check your formatting with the preview button before you post. Events that are copied & pasted between forums often end up with weird formatting. If this happens your event may be deleted.

3. Please post all the relevant information on the post, events that link to your own website only will be removed.

If you're promoting weekly, monthly or ongoing parties then it's much better to create one thread for the party then update it each week or each month.

This:
  1. Keeps down clutter
  2. Increases your exposure as the thread is bigger & will have more replies
I don't mind how you do it, but it may help you increase your exposure

Re: Rules for Posting Events (Read Carefully)

Hello all,
I am quite new here and before I do a post that gets me on the wrong side of the table I thought I would ask:
Is it ok to post about event(s) that I am not responsible for but that I am attending?
I don't know if this is allowed or not. Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers!

Re: Rules for Posting Events (Read Carefully)

Why do we have to post 5 times before we can advertise events?

I am fighting a strong urge to write random nonsense 5 times in order to be able to tell folks about our awesome LDN shows...

To discourage people from spamming, of course. It doesn't really matterhow cool your event is, if you've signed up for no reason other than to promote it people are likely to get annoyed.

EDIT: although I am curious about your "awesome LDN shows", as long as they aren't house or minimal...
