Oil and Blood opens with a mean soundscape of noise and abrasive textures, landing in a wonderfully obscure realm between the quietly hypnotic and the jerkingly rhythmic. This release soon punches through an array of pieces that really get you moving, its delight and intrigue resting in how it makes you feel the need to dance to its beat whilst it simultaneously takes your mind away to the surreal, futuristic places of all your favourite science fiction.
Boldly throwing out snares made of static and fuzzy basslines that hit your ears like you took a stethoscope to the dancefloor, this is heart pounding, foot tapping techno not to be missed.

How can you handle a song where the lo frequencies are so prominent?
What kind of monitors do you work on?
It's really impressive how much movement you have in the lower frequencies.

This! yes this!
Also, this is an awesome album, it's been amazing to be able to hear this music so much recently. It has so much depth to the sound design and feeling it really is something quite special. Worth the 5 year wait for sure. Mad props for mad skills triton

I don't really use monitors... I have my AKG headphones which I've learned inside and out...But I like to listen to them on a bunch of different speakers... Regarding all the bass parts I find the most resonant frequency range of each instrument and cut that out from all the others....
I try not to really hard compress any of the lower frequencies unless I'm using generously long attack times and faster releases... On some of those drum sounds "zerchr" I manually drew in fader automation to shape the drums... Multiband compressors are great on Drums to make the low end punchier.. I find slapping an all band compressor on drum part will squash the low frequencies far harder than anything else. So I usually use two bands for those or to repair the low end punch after sounds have been sent through distortion...
