Hey, it's about time I joined a forum for music production. I'd talk a little about myself here.
I've been producing electronic music for almost 2 years, I've produced a couple of demos for my band aswell. There is something that's odd about my producing though. Around me in real-life, I don't have anyone near me who I can discuss production related things with. I neither really use the internet for help etc. The things I've learned about producing I learned all by myself. This results in me not knowing what I actually do when i produce. Let's say i play around with EQ's. I just swap around until it sounds good. What I really am doing I have no idea, I just go by what sounds good in my ear. This can be very negative as when i want something to sound like i pictured it in my mind, I cant.
Still, I manage to get things to sound quite good and I'm quite proud of the works I've done and I feel that my music and my 'musical career' is moving forward fast. I think I'm working towards creating my own, unique sound which music producing is mostly about these days.
Thought I'd name some influences:
Danger
Breakbot
Bloody Beetroots
She
Justice
Boys Noize
As you can see I'm quite fond of that french electro touch.
I just took a huge step just the other day concerning my musical career. I came up with a bandname (great start huh). I figured I'd name myself "Pax", it means Peace in Latin. So i created my first real myspace just yesterday. You can check it out

I've always been that kind of person that wants everything to be perfect until i release something to the public, as in music of course. That's why, in the almost 2 years I've been producing, I release only one song. My thought has been that 'Why release something that you know someone else has done much better?', and I still somehow agree with that thought, but lately I've figured that it's good to "get your name out".
I know that this is what I'm going to do as a living, it's something I really enjoy doing and I think I'm quite good concerning my age (I'm 17). Even if I do not make it to the top. I personally think my creativity is high. As soon as I go out of college, I'll start going to a music production school (SAE). I'm looking forward to it alot, I just figured I'd finnish school first. It's always great to have graduated.
