Re: Reading books = better compositions?

I read 2 or 3 books a month, primarily about music or business. I honestly don't know what I'd do without that hobby. I'm waiting on a book from Amazon about chord progressions, can't wait! I also picked one up at indigo the other day for $5 that had every single piano chord in it and how to play it. I'll buy any music book and I'll read it front to back.

Re: Reading books = better compositions?

Being a DJ for 10+ years has def helped me develop an ear for better compositions I think

Reading of course will inspire as well, I try to get about an hour's worth before falling asleep each night

I don't think I've read any by Schoenberg, going to check it out right now! The one I got for $5 was called "Piano & Keyboard Chords" - Jake Jackson.

The two books I have en route from Amazon are "Chord Progressions for Songwriters
Richard J. Scott", as well as "Piano Chords & Progressions
Duane Shinn".
