I just found out that this exists

Does anybody here know about any artists that do Greek dance music and stuff. I couldn't find any recordings that didn't kind of suck.

schism has been mentioned
ticks and leaches is 7/4
lateralus jumps around a bunch, iirc the chorus goes 9/8, 8/8, 7/8
swamp song is 6/4
pretty sure jambi goes out of common time(might just be the crazy syncopations all over it though)
iirc at least part of third eye is a bar of 12/8 with a bar of 4/8 tacked on
the grudge is in 5/4 for at least part of it, it also jumps at some point i think?
the patient is 5/4 and then 5/8 i think for part
vicarious is in 5/4 for at least part
rosetta stoned has sections in 6/4, 5/8, and 9.8 iirc

this is all from memory, can't really listen to any of their stuff right now

And when they play in 4/4 they try to make it as odd as possible, like in The Pot

I love this song and the video is so fitting: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click here to register]

Re: artists that make odd time signatures sound natural/ danceable

its not really in an odd meter but it does have 5 measures to a phrase which is kind of intersting
